THE SNAKES AND GARUD Garuda loved to eat snakes : In Hindu mythology there are two Super Gods: Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. Usually Lord Vishnu moves around the universe on the back of the great Garuda, an eagle like bird. Eagles, in general, enjoy eating snakes. So the snakes run for their life the moment they see an eagle. Garuda was very strong and he, too, enjoyed eating snakes.
