CONVERT THE 'IMPOSSIBLE' TO 'POSSIBLE'

WHAT IS IMPOSSIBLE ?

Suresh wanted to be topper  :

Suresh was a Booksy preparing for Medical Entrance. He thought, "Even if one student of our class gets Medical, it should be myself. So I must be the topper of my class". Therefore, he worked hard to be the topper in his class every time.

However, after each test, Suresh found that  his score was poor around 18-20 % only.

'Hard work' alone is not the 'key' to success :

He believed that 'Hard work is the key to success'. So, he used to double up  his  efforts  to  be  the  topper.

Nevertheless, he failed repeatedly!  Seeing this, one day his father took him to the staircase. He asked him to jump as many steps as he could. Suresh jumped on to the third step. His father now asked Suresh to try to the fourth step. It looked difficult, yet Suresh tried his best, went a little back, came running and jumped ... and he was on the fourth step!!

Father points out the real problem :

Now father asked to jump to the tenth step. Suresh was puzzled, "It is impossible, Papa. If I try I will only break my legs. I cannot do it."

"Why, your friend Ramesh, the jumping champion at the Institute, had jumped twelve steps last month, do you remember?", reminded the father.

"But Papa, he had done months of practice! Give me a week's time, and I will show you that I can jump to sixth step. Likewise, I will practice for seventh step ... and within three months I can surely jump on to the tenth step" replied Suresh.

"But, why not now itself ?", asked the father :

A humble Suresh replied, "Papa, I have to go in steps .. first fifth step, then sixth, ..and .. so on!"

"If so, why do you attempt to jump to a score of 90% from a mere 18% in one step only?", asked the father.

Suresh gets the solution to his problem  :

Suresh was stunned!! He realised his mistake and said "I got the solution Papa".

Thereafter, there was no looking back for Suresh. His targets and the methods of study changed. He achieved his targets.

He started enjoying doing his work. Steadily and certainly his scores increased.

And finally, he was within the top ten in the final Entrance Test for Medical Colleges !!

MORAL OF THE STORY

Go in steps to reach the target. There is nothing impossible. Convert the 'impossible' to 'possible' by breaking it into smaller units or steps.

In studies :

You can do exceptionally well in studies by going in steps and then stretching your limits.
