RAMU AND HIS DOG
Ramu and his dog Vir :
Ramu was a shepherd. He had a hunting dog, named Vir, to keep watch of his sheep. Once the shepherd and Vir took the sheep to a nearby forest for grazing the sheep.
Badmas, the wolf entices Vir :
There was a wolf in this forest. His name was Badmas. He wanted a sheep. But he could not do anything because of Vir who kept a close guard .
Vir pretended as if he believed Badmas, "So what should l do?"
Badmas approached Vir and said, "Vir, why are you working as a slave under that shepherd? You and me, both are animals of the same breed. See me, how independent I am. I move, eat and sleep as I wish."
"Join me and let us make good food of these sheep whom you guard for no good reasons." Said Badmas.
Vir wants to collect some information :
Vir was apprehensive and asked, "Where do you live?" Vir wanted to see the residence of Badmas so that he can inform his master Ramu about it.
Badmas tells his plans his wife :
Inside the cave, Badmas went to his wife and said in her ear "Let's kill this fool Vir. After that we can easily get a lot of sheep for our daily needs. Let's attack him together."Wife of Badmas nodded her head. Ramu was seeing all these from a distance and could understand the conspiracy between them.
Badmas and his wife attack Vir :
Suddenly, both Badmas and his wife attacked Vir who was taken by surprise.He fought back for his survival.
A good mentor (guru) Is essential in life :
Seeing the defeated wolves, Vir told them, "I get this benefit of protection for being with the most intelligent animal on the earth. A better mentor (Guru) and a master is essential in life." Saying so Vir kicked both the wolves and followed his master Ramu out of the cave to the sheep."Just close by," said Badmas who had some other plans. "Come I will show my residence."
Ramu came rushing to save Vir. He started hitting the legs of the wolves with his solid wooden stick. Legs of Badmas and his wife were badly injured and they fell on the ground being unable to move. They started groaning.
MORAL OF THE STORY
- A loving and intelligent mentor (i.e. Guru) is essentially required for getting guidance tor success in life.
In studies :
- No student can achieve outstanding success in exam unless he/she has the right mentor (i.e. Guru).
