THE SAINT AND THE MOUSE
The Saint and the Mouse :
A saint had divine powers. He used to meditate under a tree. A mouse lived in the tree. It used to play around the saint. The saint and the mouse developed a great attachment for each other.
A Cat attacks the Mouse :
One day a cat appeared from nowhere and attacked the mouse. The mouse cried for help from the saint who saved him.
Mouse becomes to Cat :
"But, I must give the mouse a permanent protection from the cats." The saint thought. "Hmm .... Let me convert the mouse to a cat." The saint converted the mouse to a cat by his divine powers. The new cat was grateful to the saint and became very fond of him.
Cat turns to Dog :
Again, another day a wild dog ran after the cat to kill it. The cat ran for the mercy of the saint. Now to save from the wild dog, the saint converted the cat to a wild dog.
Dog turns to Tiger :
The new dog always moved around the saint. One day a tiger attacked the dog. Looking at the misery of the poor dog, the saint converted it into a strong tiger. This tiger always stayed near the saint.
Taste of Human flesh :
One day, it heard from another tiger that human flesh was very tasty. It started searching for the same and thought of the saint.
The saint was in meditation. the tiger ran towards the saint to kill and eat him. The saint's meditation broke. He could understand everything at once.
Mouse again:
He looked at the tiger and commanded, "Become a mouse again."
Instantly the tiger became a mouse and ran to the tree. The saint thought, "I should not have helped somebody who is not fit to receive the help."
MORAL OF THE STORY
- Never help somebody who is not worthy of it.
- If you help somebody unworthy of it, one day he will use your help against you.
