GRASS-HOPPER AND THE ANT
Two neighbours: Grass-hopper and the ant :
A grass-hopper and an ant were neighbours. It was a pleasant sunny morning in winter. The grass-hopper jumped around merrily in the sun.
He saw that the ant was struggling and pulling a grain to take it to his home. He called out to the ant, "Oh foolish ant, come above the leaves and enjoy this pleasant sun."
"Can't lose the opportunity of a good weather" :
"Sorry, grass-hopper," said the ant as he was sweating." Since it is not raining now, I have to collect grains. I can't lose this opportunity."
The grass-hopper laughed "You will die of working only. You do not know how to enjoy life."
Rainy season comes : Nobody can go out
Came the rainy season. It was impossible to come out even to collect food. So were the ant and the grass-hopper.
There was no food for the grass-hopper and his children. He looked at his neighbours, the ant and his children, who were merrily eating the grains which were collected and saved during winter.
Grass-hopper begs for food :
The grass-hopper begged for a little food. The ant inquired of him, "Who knows better how to enjoy life: you or me?". And he closed the door.
The grass-hopper and his children die :
The grass-hopper and his children died of hunger.
MORAL OF THE STORY
The more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war.
In studies :
- The more you study in holidays, the less difficulties you will have in the final exams.
- Work harder in your so called holidays and leisure hours, even if others waste it. In doing so, you always gain.
